A good memory...

Today after finishing my last assignment, I sat back and browsed through the pics of me and my friends during my trip to Cambodia last Christmas. It was so enjoyable and I really wanted to visit again, but sadly cannot (on a tight budget here!!).

I missed the time i spend during the party at EFI. Actually, the party is just for current students only, but as i got, i don know how to say, "pipe", so i could go too. (I hope you understand what i mean). We also performed on stage, danced, ate, and more dancing. You will never imagine how fast we ate. We ate like we never eat for months. Why? Cos on stage we perform the story of 7 January.

What a memory! Now sleep hery cos need to wake up early tomorrow to submit my assignment and go to work as well. After that prepare for my exam on 4th July. Oh so many things to do...

G20 Summit in London

Today, April 2, 2009, is a one of the remarkable day in the history. Why? I think most of you guys must have heard of the G20 summit in London. It is the biggest meeting of 20 world's leaders ever since WWII. The meeting is held at the Excel Centre not so far away from where i live, just the other side of river Thames... Lol

The purpose of this meeting is to deal with the global financial melt down. However, the meeting is not going to be held easily as there were lots of demonstration prior to the meeting. Yesterday, there were thousands of people doing demonstrations under different campaigns from stop the war, to climate change. They were saying that the meeting is just a waste of money and only benefit the rich not the poor. They don want the government to use the money of the tax payer to bail out banker again. The demonstration also went violence in front of the Bank of England.

Unfortunately, yesterday I had to go to uni for my mid-term exam. It is a bit scary though cos not so far away from my uni there is a demonstration going on. My uni is not so far away from the US embassy and near to the Buckingham palace. There were not many people on the street, bus, tube. No one wearing smart clothes or office suite as there was advice from the police to all the office worker to dress down for that day. The reason was they don want to be the target of the Anti-capitalism demonstration.

So, is there any demonstration going on over there?

Happy Late International Women's Day

Well I almost forgot that yesterday, cos it's already passed midnight, was international women's day. Until one of my colleague asked me, "Why don't you said Happy women day to me". Then i realized about it.

While in Cambodia, we have a holiday for 8th, March. However here, there is not many holidays going on. So holiday sure make a huge different. I hope u guys had a lot of fun... So for you guys abroad, did they celebrate International Women's Day?

If you guys follow the news this week (Actually last week)... you probably have know that there was a heavy snow or a blizzard in London last Monday. I know that some of you might have already experience it, but for me it was a every enjoyable moment to see lot and lot of snow like that, even though it's a blizzard.

It hasn't snowed that hard in London for years... And lucky me i arrived from my holiday in Cambodia on time to see it... Lol oh here the pics...

Hi all... Sorry for being away for so so so long... Now hopefully I'll be staying around as long as you guys are. You know well when you stop doing sth for so long and thinking of coming back feel kinda... You just wait and wait and then you feel like you cannot find the right time. So as a result you just stop doing it...

Wow the closing ceremony of olympic game in beijing and the handover in london were so cool... I wish i could see it, but so sad i missed it. Why? cos last sunday i have to work but bluewind got a chance to see it before she started work... Damn!

My week of new job!

Last Wednesday is my first day in my new permanent job. I work in a Ice-cream Café called, Häagen Daz, in Leicester Square as Back of House staff. This whole week and next week are training weeks. They so far have taught me the name of the ice-cream and taste them, which have nearly 20 flavours. I learned how to make drink and other stuffs.

Well on the training week, i had made some mistake and yeah was blamed by the team leader who trained me. To be honest, sometimes it's not really my fault cos i can hardly understand what she told me. Her french accent is so strong. So i had to ask her twice, which may be made her think "i'm stupid". One more thing after being blame and she stood next to me to see how i worked, i couldn't do anything at all. I can't scoop the ice cream, the drink is a big mess, everything went wrong. Oh that was a nightmare. However, when she leave everything went back to normal.

What an enjoyable, interesting, and absolutely horrible day...

P.S. BlueWind also work with me, but she was fine and lucky cos she was not trained by the leader like me and when she make mistake that leader is nowhere around.

A week of hard-work!!

Wow!! Finally, it's over... I have finish the four days work today and so so happy. Totally, I work around 36 hours not included break... Hopefully they paid for the break as well like at Lord Cricket Ground. If they pay for the break, it will be enough money for this month rental... Lolzzz

This time, I also work at cricket ground but different stadium, Oval Cricket Ground. The work is a bit harder than the last one, but much more fun as i have made a couple of friends. There is one guys also Harry Potter fan. His name is Juan Pablo from Columbia. He brought the book to work everyday and read it during the break time. I liked to tease him a lot especially in telling him what is happen next in Harry Potter movie as he only read book 6 now... So funny...

Well, hopefully the agency call me to work this week so that i can earn more money during the summer cos it's nearly over now...

P.S. Hey I forgot to tell you how long I have a break. It 90 minutes... Lolz

The Birth of Frenix!

Today is the triple 8 day (08.08.08). This also mark the day of Frenix. Frenix is a formation of two words, Friend and Phoenix. As Phoenix is the magical creature that live forever. Well, not really forever, but it will always reborn from the ash of itself to live a new life. It is also like Friendship that will last forever, but will sometime have got some problem like lose of contact and stuffs...

Anyway enough of the explanation here is the initial logo of our group Frenix.

I know it is not really nice yet as with my new laptop, i cannot do much with the design... Also to be honest, I don have much time now cos i am a bit busy with my work...

Anyway, about the head as i have seen lots of questions about it... It is nothing but a represent of the first five members who decide to form a this group up. Well who is who? It's up to you to decide, but i think the blue one is me... Lolzzz then that leave the green one is Longdy (Sorry no hair), the middle one should be Mango (Lida) as she is the one who come up with the idea of this group. If you look at the yellow one closely it somehow looks like BlueWind (Kanitha aka K1)... Cos when she make her hair to Thorpe Park it look like that. Finally the purple one is non other than Van-nishing (Sovann, sorry u have to open your mouth too big)...

Olympic Game 2008

Well today is the launch of the Olympic Game in Beijing... Oh really wanna see it... Oh I just check some pic and i really like the swimming pool stadium... It look so great... Check it out...

Actually the Bubble structure of the building is not just for the outlook and fancy view... When the swimmer jump into the pool the reflection of light from the water will show the shape on the ceiling... So cool!

Hey guys... I just make a sushi right now and decide to share some pics of them with you all... Oh the process of making it is very hard and take long time as you have to prepare the sushi and rice and vinegar for nearly an hour. Also, the ingredients inside have to be cook except the fresh vegetables, which you can eat fresh, of course! After all the preparation and effort my sushi has finally done...

Boring Week!

Oh man so bored nas... Why? cos this week no job! As I'm now working part-time with the agency, so it is not a permenent job where i will work every week. As this week, it is not really busy so the agency told me that they will try to find the job and contact me later.

They once try to place me for a permenent position, but as i'm on a student visa so i cannot work full time ban te... Yab! Hey tell you one thing about my work... My last assignment was at the Lord Cricket Ground, where prince Harry and William often come to play. The job at that place was really easy and simple... It was so fun working there. I didn't feel tired at all! I worked 11 hours that day but actually the net working time was only 5 hours or sth, cos there was nothing much to do so i just went to the back and had a seat and ate sth. The manager was so easy and kind... We can eat and drink what we like. Of course there is a limitation and restriction on the food we can eat!

Anyway the work was fun and easy. All i did was serve the food and drink. After that, stand around and chatting and eating... So fun... Hope to work at that place again... Lolzzz

Picking apple!

Well today me and my flatmate (Yes, that include BlueWind) went to the park for a walk to get some fresh air. However, it was not only the fresh air that we got, but also the apple. Hey hold your mind for a sec... This is not called stealing, it's called picking and helping. If we don't take it, it will soon be rotten. So, we just help save the environment and not wasting fruit. That's all!

Actually, we planned not only the apples, but also other fruits like cherry, blueberry, and others. However, cherry still small and blueberry just blossom. Mayb next month it will be ready and we will also be ready. That was fun actually! Never imagine me doing that!

After picking apples, we just walk back as it is not really far from the house and watch a movie with a very sour apple cos they still small... Believe me when i said sour, it really damn sour as i am the one who really like sour fruits... This apple is way sour than mango!!

My 100th post!!

Wow... How long have i been in this blogging world? Well, since August last year... Just before I came to UK. Most of my post are basically my journal... Well let's recall some of them!

First, let's started with the most discussed posts! The "s" means that there are two of them "Wonder why it snow?" and "What the magic word(s)?" They both got 17 comments. I knew some of you guys posts got more comment than mine. What can i do that all i got! Well, for the first one, that was interesting... it like i can some how control the weather... and Dalin well said i gain weight too... Longdy said i can be an actor and Thank You for that... Lolzzz!! The second one is the quiz and only when i gave out the second clue that made K1 the winner! And I already give out the prize to her... But I think she might want sth more than that! Lolzzz

Ok, lets move to my favourite posts... There are a few of them... Like "Looking back...", "The meaning of my name", "You make me smile...", "Arrival in London", "Alone in London" and many more... Actually, they are all my favourite... Some of them are some how an emotional post, some are music and clip, and some are joke. Talking about a joke, on April Fool day, there were 4 friends fell for that... and again K1 is the first one... Congratulation to her!!

Oh there also some lovely and exciting experience in London too that i have and haven't post in my blog, like "The earthquake", "The Snowing", "The Olympic Torch Relay 1", "The Olympic Torch Relay 2" and "The World Premier" and many more... It's like the experiences of a life time! Enjoy my life, Study hard, Look after myself, Earn money, Live on my own (not exactly cos still need financial support from me mom and dad... Lol) And there are also some stuffs that i can't imagine myself doing it... Absolutely not in Cambodia... Really do time pass so fast now it nearly a year that I've been in London, UK!! Only 2 months and 22 days to go!

Internet problem in the new house!

Hi ya... How ya doing guys? Me fine... Just finish all the school work last week... So free now! I am now on summer vacation na... Any advice for me ot?

Ok back to the topic... You know what we just got the internet connection in the new house... First we thought that the internet will be in the new address by 10th this month. Fortunately, we just plugged in the router and the broadband light turned green so you know what that mean... Internet is now on!!!

We have waited for that internet for nearly month now... It is BT fault!! You know... First i called them on the 14th, May to tell them that I wanted to move my telephone line and broadband to my new address by the 19th, May, cos on its website it said we just need to inform them 5 days before we move... Then they said ok... However, few day later they call me that the broadband will only activate on the 5th, June. Then on the 3th they said that the broadband will be on 10th instead... Stupid BT... And now we have internet... What's the point? Stupid idiot BT... Why? Cos that not all, when i first applied for telephone line and broadband to my old address, it took me 2 months to get it done... Yab...

Sorry for the long and messy text... Cos just got internet hahaha

Well well well...! The week of final project presentation, exhibition, and exam is coming closer and closer day by day... Today I've just finish the presentation with the internal panel for the project and next week will be the final external presentation and exhibition. As the result I'll not be able to be here for two weeks started from this post... Wish me luck guys as I have to prepare for final exams and stuffs... I will post more after everything is done. Oh i will show you how my hard work is showcase in the exhibition... So cool!!

Well, it nearly a week now that i'm away... cos me sick!! :( Poor me!! I caught a cold and also high fever for nearly a week... Don worry the fever only last one day and a half! The cold water became warm... That's cool!!

Anyway nothing to say much just got sth interesting from lecture last friday to share! He said that every people have no control on their eye pupils. It can tell our emotion toward other! If someone is attracted by the other, the pupils gonna get bigger!

For example, if a guy tell a girl, "I Love You", and the eyes' pupils won't get bigger, that means he has no feeling for it... In other word, he's lying!! So have to look into the eyes to see the truth. However, don forget to clean it first; in case, they are full of eye shit! Lolzzz

Anyway... today i bake a cake! Look damn nice but taste damn... Nice... :) Believe me you never taste the same cake like this one! Lolzzz

Yeah what you are thinking now is correct (if you know what i mean... lol)! I was helping my friends out for their documentary film production. They are now making a documentary about the bus problem in London and I am their actor... Lolzzz

First we shoot about this and that... the bus stop, the sign, me reading the sign, get on and out of the bus, on the bus and say some lines... Oh man so funny... especially on the bus... Me sitting there looking out at the view (be natural), but how if two camera keeping in and out of my face... how can i keep myself from laughing... Lol... and then there were some school girls getting on the bus and they keep looking at me and seem so interesting like... (hard to explain) then i just don know what to do but keep laughing like hell on the bus...

When we get down, I have to do the confusion part where i get out at the wrong stop... the first 2 takes were ok (natural), but the third is so funny it's like "lalalala and then heh where am i?"

That's so funny after the boring class i got... Lolzzz

Olympic Torch Relay in London 2 (06/04/08)

Some more pics from olympic torch relay in london last time... Here are the mascots, Fuwa, for the Olympic in Beijing this year... There are five of them, Beibei -fish, Jingjing -panda, Huanhuan -olympic flame, Yingying -Tibetan antelope, Nini -Swallow. All of them together represent the Olympic rings...

These name are likely to be children name, but when put together, Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni, means "Welcome to Beijing"...

Beibei -fish: Among Fuwa, Beibei is known to be gentle and pure. Strong in water sports, she reflects the blue Olympic ring.

Jingjing -panda: Jingjing is charmingly naïve and optimistic. He is an athlete noted for strength who represents the black Olympic ring.

Huanhuan -Olympic flame: Huanhuan is outgoing and enthusiastic. He excels at all the ball games and represents the red Olympic ring.

Yingying - Tibetan antelope: Strong in track and field events, Yingying is a quick-witted and agile boy who represents the yellow Olympic ring.

Going out!!

Today is my free day of the week.. so i decide to go out and look around... First me and one of my flatmate go to supermarket to buy sth to eat for this week. Unfortunately, we somehow kinda stupid and forget to bring the key with us... I thought she bring it and she thought i bring it. Yes! that means we lock ourselves outside. Have to call the other who at uni to come back when she finish. Luckily she finish early at around 2.

After that... as today also St. George's Day (like St. Patrick's day), but this one for England, there are some activities at my local library... I want to go there and have a look but i don want to go alone so i ask one of my friend to go with me... She said she don want to go... she will go out to find the location for her shooting (she's doing film and journalism). I then keep asking her again and again like thousand time until she want to kill me and chop me into pieces... Lol... it's quite fun! Finally she said ok i go with you... Stop ask me again... I said OK!

However, there was nothing there at the library. Only kids there! So, I go with her instead. Lol... We take bus and sit on the top to look at the view where is the best part...Not too crowded and not too quiet. I am going to be a star in that documentary... Lolzzz

Then we, she, go shopping, me window-shopping... Then we also go to Disney's store... Oh there some pics for that!

My first Cupcake!

Well after back from sight-seeing with my friend. I decide to bake cupcakes as a celebration for my three weeks of hard work!! Actually this is not the first time that I bake. I used to bake in Cambodia with my mum and my sis and along with my friends one time before i came here. However, I only baked cake at that time not cupcake. Last time, I baked cookies (in London) and want to give some to BlueWind but she too lazy to come out and meet me (that was when she first came here)... Here the pics of my cupcake process...

Finally! At last! I finish all the work... Assignments and exam! OMG... Life is getting better now... Tell you what! Now it's 3.30am but i don't feel sleepy at all cos i am so happy that i finish all that head-breaking-works.

For the accounting assignment, which due yesterday by midnight, I unluckily finish it one hour late... Hope he spare me!! The reasons it late are... first i am so sleepy doing it. 2nd, I got too many idea and hard to put it together. I have talk to my lecturer about my idea and he said it was brilliant and he expected to get it soon by midnight... The problem is he didn't know my weaknesses... I am too detail and too accurate. I want my work to be perfect and professional; so it is hard for me to put them all in a report. I don't know where to start how it connect to each other... and blah blah blah... 3rd I like work under pressure... time-pressure! That's why a post below come up in my post... I spent my time after school at the premier rather than sit down to write that report... It took one of my class mates 1 week with 7 books to complete it whereas me only one book with 3 hours... what's a great man! Lol... I don know why I am that kind of person...

Oh my god... as i write this post i just realise one thing... OMG why again... I just remember that I have to give another project presentation this friday... Man!! Why can't it give me some rest! I've been in this situation for nearly 3 weeks... None stop!! Huh... Have to email to architecture's students for the detail of there building... especially the material used in the building... they keep changing it every weeks and I have to make a budget for the project... so have to adjust and research for the price of that material every weeks... The suppliers i contact with only a few reply back, but now there material change so have to find the new one... the one that haven't replied back still use there material... so hopefully they give me some answer...

Oh man my life is so great and colourful... Full of assignment and work loads colour... Lolzzz! Now that I realised that I got more work to do, I started to feel sleepy again...!!

World Premier "What Happens in Vegas"

Yesterday, cos now already pass midnight, after school, i went to Leicester's square as there was a premier at 6pm according to the newspaper i read on the tube to uni. that morning. I arrived there around 4pm and there's not many people gathering yet. However, i had to stand there and wait if I wanted to be in the front row... Well while i was waiting, I called to BlueWind to ask whether she wanted to come or not? The answer was NO! But we talked on the phone for nearly an hour as I got nothing to do and so did she... Well enough talking here are the pics...

The reporters! The two girl in front of me some how quit popular as around 4-5 reporters come to ask them to give some commentaries... And here on the left are the guest for the premier... Don know how they get the ticket... cos i search online they said, it is an invitation... but there must be some tickets on sale... Have to find out... Now here is the best part of this post! The star of the show AAHTON... Ta Tha Da!!

He looks different from the billboard! More mature and less funny... But he such a nice guy... Giving autograph and take picture with fan... Just ask him, he wouldn't mind! Don ask I haven't ask for autograph cos not really his big fan... The two girls in front of me kept shouting OMG OMG when they saw him coming... Lol... Girl!!

A guest star called, Danielle, don know her... but she is so pretty... and there was a group of girl... Don know who are they, star or not, but they just walk around and give people autograph and take pictures...

Well that's it!! You like it? This is the first time I am at the premier... Last time, there was also some premier but don have time and the stars... Don know who are they... This one I know the actor, watch a couple of his movies, mostly comedy... and the actress... Cameron in Charlie's Angels... However, she didn't come... the security there said she always like that never come to her own premier and if come only at the last hour!!

Anyway... I post more new and interesting things sooner or later when i get more...!!

What a DAY!!

Well, today is so... great!! In the morning, I have to review a lesson for afternoon exam and after exam i have to do a profit and loss budget for the project to be present tomorrow. Just sent it to the project leader to compile it into a powerpoint slide...

For the exam this afternoon, it was not really bad. It was a mid-term exam, so the questions were not so hard at all but they were long. There were 8 but we only needed to answer 6. That's what i like cos some of the questions were still blur. Some questions just half way finished but then stucked. However, I could manage to finish them all on time.

About the profit and loss budget, the figures are made up by me. It came out by my super calculation, the number of students and staff, tuition fee, other expenses... Plus, minus, multiply, divide and blah blah blah... Then the figure come out! The reason i have to do this cos i have request for the set of account of my university, but they said the information was confindential and TOP SECRET can't release... Lol! So no choice!!

Man gotta sleep now cos have to give a presentation tomorrow. Tell you more later!

Well, for this special occasion, let's me show you some pics from the olympic torch relay that happened in london last week.There was lots of pics that i took on that day but there is not enough time for me now to post it all at once cos me now so busy with the assignments... Have to submit 2 assignment, prepare for two presentation and one exam this week... Oh man... what's a lovely life!! Here are some pics!

Yesterday, there was a party here in London at the VLC (Vietnam Laos Cambodia) community centre. Unfortunately, K1 forgot to bring her camera and my phone run out of battery... So for now there is no photo! Have to wait for the photo from other people that i met at the party to send them to me! Oh on that day, there was a lucky draw and I win something too... I knew that I felt lucky that day!

Another trip to Hogward!

Well last week on Wed. I met up with K1 and her sis and gave them a tour around London... First we have to find the place to meet... So where could it be? King Cross of course as we are a big fan of Harry Potter...

We agreed on the location and time, 11 o'clock. However, K1 was late and guess what happen...? Let tell the story with the picture below...

K1: OK... I say good bye to my sis and catch up with you later...

Wonder why it snow?

It is simple! It's because of me... Lol! If we explain it in a logical way, we can see that the weather change because of my appearances! Well, yesterday and before that the weather was getting warmer when suddenly snow today.

Why? Because yesterday I had a haircut. It's like this! When my hair was still long, I looked hot, that why the weather was warm. Now, after the haircut, with super short hair, I looks cool, that's why it snows. See simple as pie!

Last night, while i was sleeping, outside was snowing, heavy one. When I woke up this morning, I looked at my window and wonder why it was freeze; so, I took picture of it. Hey you know what happen today? Today on my way to college, I met one girl on the bus. She was sitting next to me, siliently... After two or three stops, she started to talk me... First, we introduced our name and so on. Then, we started to talk about other stuffs. It likes we got alot of things in common, as we both at the same age... Lol!

Suddenly, she went siliently again. Around 5 minutes I guess. It like she was thinking of sth, and like there sth holding her back... Finally, i decided to break it by asking her, " Are you alright? Oh I will get off at the next stop." Then she look at me and said, " Oh..." and she take out her pen and write sth on my hand...

Guess what it is? Her number... Want to know what happen next...? She give me a ... and it last all the way to the next stop!

Other Group uses my ideas!

Well, last Friday was my first project presentation. It was a surprise for what i had found out! The first group, Group A, have totally used the idea of my previous, last semester, group. Both Architecture and Business students had copied my group ideas.

I had talked about this issue with the lecturer who leads this project and guess what she said? She said it's fine, nothing to worry about. I was blank with that...

The problem is, these idea had already been used by my group for last semester project and also the winning group. If group A uses this idea again, which i'm still here, and without permission, and if win, that will be totally unfair to me and my previous group. Why? Cos the winning team for this semester will get the commission from Uni. President, which is just a repeated idea...

P.S. I don't mean that they steal my ideas, just they use it without knowing, and when i talk to the lecturer, she said nothing! That's what piss me off!

My Computer Problem!

OMG! How can this be happening? Today I tried to start my computer for like ten times and it just automatically restarted by itself. At first I thought that, "Oh dear! This is it! My good old laptop... Farewell."

Suddenly with several attempts, the system was back to normal and it was a relief, so did a regret. Why? Cos if this one is gone, i can have a new one... Lol! As now it works normally again, I have no choice but to wait until it last minute!

This is not the only problem I'm facing. There are also some problem with the Messenger. I cannot be able to log in to Yahoo Messenger, cos every time i try to, my computer get stuck in the middle of signing in. Then I have to close it and wait like 5 to 10 mins.

If the laptop screen just gets blank and all the system stops working, I will buy a new one... That's for sure! I always want to have VIAO or Apple MAC... However these two are damn expensive... Poor me... Lol!

Day Light Saving!

Today at midnight, in UK, we have to change the time again... This time we have to move the clock one hour forward... Hope K1 know about it....

I now understand why they have to move the clock backward and forward! The reason is because now the day is start to get shorter and morning is earlier that why they have to set the time one hour forward...

So when will we set it backward? It will be after summer... Actually, this also happen the same in Cambodia and other countries all around the world. However, in cambodia we don really care about it, that why we ignore it...

Now have to sleep earlier cos they steal one hour of my beauty sleep! Lol

Well this information is coming from our friend Chamreoun. I received it while i was chatting with him last Tuesday... Here the news:

Economics: There is a huge economics crisis... The price of the oil and gasoline is rising rapidly to about 4950 per liter. Therefore, the price of other products also rises. According to Chamreoun, the food at canteen at IFL also increase. Now the minimum price is 3500...

Communication Technology: Now there are two new telecom. network providers, 098 and 013. It tries to fight for the market against the other companies, especially 012... The promoting strategy, that these two companies use is to provide a free mobile internet for 3 months to new customers... However in here this, strategy is out of date... It should try to give out free phone for new customers with a price plan contract... That will attract most teenagers which is the big market...

Investment: There is now KFC in Cambodia... They said it is yummy, but for me I still like Lucky... Why? Cos here, KFC i'm not sure, but McDonald is suck... The burger is so small and the beef doesn't taste like beef at all... If you expect the burger to look like the display pic... You wish!

Looking Back...

Well after looking at the post in K1's blog and all the comment of confession, I have decided to make a confession too...

On the first day that I had to part from my family and friends to UK to pursue my study, I have a strange feeling. Not just one feeling... Some of the feelings are like what Lida and K1 felt. However, there was one feeling that conquered all the others. The positive feeling...

This feeling was the one that stopped my tear from dropping. Beside my parents, especially my dad, always teach me to be strong and conquer the weakness (actually sometime i cannot really do it lol). The moment when my tear nearly dropped, you know running in my eyes, tried to find the way out, I started to think about one thing, My Future and Dream.

Despite the loneliness at the waiting room, on the plane, even now, I kept thinking that my childhood dream has come true. To be able to study in UK is what I always dream of since I know Harry Potter... Lolzzz! Yeah it's true. First I didn't have any specific country in mind, just know country that speak English is fine. After knowing about Harry Potter, I started to research on UK and learn about Oxford, Cambridge,...

This feeling accompany me until now... Guess what I first said to myself when the plane finally over UK? I said, "... Finally, my dream come true..."

Wield Conversation!

Happy Easter's Day everyone!

Today I have a chat with my parents and my sis. We were talking online for like 1 hours, but with huge difficulty. The internet connection problem and so do the webcam. However, that's not the wield conversation I'm going to talk about.

Like Lida conversation with Pooh, my conversation with my friend, Soriya, was also wield. We chatted with both text and voice, but that not all. We chatted through three different types of media. First, it started with Yahoo, but then there was some problem with my side. I cannot hear her probably. So, we go to MSN, yet we didn't close Yahoo. We talked like about 15 minutes when the problem occurred again, but this time it's her side. Therefore, we move on to Skype, which was much better. And yes we didn't close both MSN nor Yahoo. We started to talk on skype, type on Yahoo and sometime on MSN... Lolzzz

It was kinda fun and stupid. Mayb more stupid than Lida with Pooh, lol.... That was my wield conversation... hahaha

Good Friday!

Today is Good Friday! Don't ask me why, neither do I have any idea why it called like that. According to my lecturer, today is the first day of SPRING!

Yes, the first day of Spring. I don't know why it's so long, the winter... The strangest thing that happen on the first day of spring is, SNOW! The whole UK is snowing, some heavy some not. In London, it just a short period, but in Hull, it snows whole day...

Today while I was working, at about 5pm, the sky started to turn black, the cloud look so heavy, and then it rained. After that, it started to snow along with the rain. It's not like last time. This time both rain and snow are heavy and it's in central London, Oxford Street. Everyone in the restaurant stop working for like five minutes just to watch the snow, so do the customers. Lolzzz

So, strange the weather here! In winter, there was no snow, but in spring, there is snow... "Climate Change"!

First Khmer I Meet in UK!

After be in UK for about half year, I have never met even a single Khmer. I only met some, like K1 sis, my dad friends, but all on the phone, not physically. The day before yesterday is the first day I went to met my dad's friend, cos I had to go and take the stuffs my parent sent for me.

On my way there, i have stop at Kingcross station, cos I need to text him to said that I will arrive at Holloway station in 15 minutes. As there was no signal in underground so I went up... and that's what happened in the other post below...

Back to the story, he was such a nice guy and give me lots of advices on life in UK. He also tell me how friendly Khmers in UK are... We sat down in McDonald and chitchat for nearly two hours...

The stuffs my parents sent to me are basically clothes, but the strangest thing is they are all branded clothes, top brands in UK. The pant are NEXT, the short are H&M, and shirts are... I don't remember me telling them anything about the brand and fashion in UK. Strange they bought me this brand.

Now I have UK branded clothes... Lol, as before most of them are US and some don know...

Half Trip to Hogward!

I think most of you already know what this post mean, right?

So where to begin? Ummm, as you all know i am one of the Harry Potter fans. So what else should i think of doing when come to UK, country of Harry Potter. Going to the places that mention in Harry Potter book and show in Harry Potter film are all on my to-do-list when in UK.

After many attempts, I have managed to find Platform 9¾, the gate way into Harry Potter world. When I first came here, I have tried like 3 times to find this platform, but can only find platform 8. I was wonder where the hell is that platform 9 and 10. However, on the fourth time, lucky day for me I guess, I realised that I have forgot one thing. I haven't look closely enough at the sign at platform 8. When I look closely, it said, "Platform 9-11, please walk along the platform 8". Then I think to myself, OMG HERE WE GO!... I found it... here some pics:

St. Patrick's Day!

Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day, Irish public holiday. As North Ireland is part of UK, there was a ceremony held at the many places within the London.

In my area, there was a celebration at the library, where there were concert and other activities. Here are the pics i took yesterday:

Inside the building (Library, Cinema, Pub) - Outside: a group of girls performing a tapped dance...

Concert: They sang in Irish; therefore, I have no idea what they sang... Lol! However, people really enjoyed it. They all danced and sang after the singer!

After that, I went to the supermarket, Sainbury, to buy some foods for this week, but i bought lot more than a week. Mayb it can last for one month... Lol!

Phone calls!

Another phone call from my dad friend! Again...

Yesterday, my dad colleague called me from Cambridge. When I heard my phone rang, i picked it up and it shown no number. So, I thought my parent called me, but it's not. He called me because he is going to visit Cambodia next month and asked me if i want to send anything to my family. Well, I don know what should I sent and beside the stuffs here are so expensive... Lol

After that, he start to talk about his study and then my study. He know that I want to transfer to other university. I think now all my dad friends knew about it... yab man

Actually i didn't know that there are lot of Khmer in London. He told me they are everywhere in London and they knew each other well too, only me who knew nothing. Wow!

Well the next phone call is today. This time, I am the one who called. This morning while I was on my way to Uni., I called to DPK's sis. Why? Cos I thought that she came today... another Yab! I thought that if I couldn't pick her up at the airport physically with her sis, at least by phone! And I confused the date, or mayb ... Lol

Oh man, so shy nas when I made kinda stupid mistake like this!

Anyway, I'm really glad that she finally come to London cos me feel so lonely and bored. Mayb after she come, we can hangout and kill that loneliness away... Oh man, can't wait!

Receiving a Phone call!

Yesterday, I had received one call from one person. Yeah only one... Who? It was my dad's friend. Actually, I have known that he came to London a couple of days ago, and my dad told me that he had sent me some stuffs, you know what they are, no need to tell. However, I had been waiting for his call ages but never received one, not until yesterday.

As on my previous post, yesterday was one of my stressful day and I wasn't really expected to receive a call from him. I'm not really in a good mood on talking on the phone that day, but i have to control myself. Be polite! It's a manner...

My Friend's Super Bicycle!

Yesterday, about 4 hours ago, my friend just finish *** (I don't know the word), you know... put the air in the tyres... She asked me to try. So, we went outside for a little ride, but it was not little at all!

I was the one to go first! We said each did one lap around the block! The bike was ok at the first, i think it was because i still have full energy at the start... lol, but when it went on, the bike started to slow down. I can hardly move it, it liked stuck. It seemed like the bike was not well oil or no oil at all.

I had tried my best to do one long lap, actually it's not long it just because of the bike! When I finished it, I double checked the bike and found out that the tyres were flat, but it's loo late, my legs could barely move!

Wow what a great exercise!

P.S. Just for ur information, my legs are ok now! Oh and if you know tell me what is ***?

Accounting Class!

Man, what's a DAY! Today, oh no it was a yesterday, was my second accounting class... Actually, I do like accounting, but one thing i hate about accounting is theory and lecture.

I was sitting for nearly one hour just to listen and look at the slide. The lecture was so fast, and i was also fast asleep... Not really slept and snore in class but nearly my eye became so heavy.

I tried my best to control and behave myself. Be a good student! One thing that save me from this disaster was EXAMPLES! I like examples... They made me think not just listen! For two hours lecture, I only participated around 45 minutes, the first 15 min and other example along the lecture,... the rest was... Can't tell cos don really sure what I was doing... Lolzzz

P.S. For this two hours, It covered nearly the first 3 days that I used to study in EFI! Damn Fast!

Wow Just out cold!

I was watching movie, Harry Potter again, liked an hour ago when I suddenly felt sleepy and went to rest my back a bit. It felt so good for a long day... but one thing i didn't realise was i felt asleep and dreaming. I thought it was real, cos in my dream i was still watching the movie...

The next thing i realised is i woke up still on my bed and the movie is on pause! So just continue it... lol

Oh let me tell you about my new academic project for this semester... First I thought that i can skip this project as i have already done it last semester, cos as i remembered the academic leader said last semester that if you did the project this semester, the next semester will be optional... Now they changed it! All have to participate "Compulsory"!

As all, mayb some, of you might have remembered my last project is about "Limkokwing Future" and I have to cooperate with the architecture's student and write a "Business or Marketing Plan"! It was an incredibly successful. Oh, I am so proud of myself!

This semester's project is called, "Universal (Intra-faculty) Project". I don't really know what that means, cos i haven't read it in detail yet. A bit lazy... Lol! All i know is that again members from different faculties work together, but this time no one is superior. Not like last time, which architecture was leading the group. We will write or create or... about multi-disciplines for the university campus worldwide as London campus is the headquarter. And from the brief presented by one of the lecturers said that the winner will have their work put in real practice by the university... So cool! That all I know about it, have to find out more...

One thing is the university is so smart. They don't need to hired any professional to do it, cos they already had their internal future pro. waiting to be growth... No need to spend money... Hope if they really use our work, mayb we can get some commission... Lol!

Busy and Disappointed day!

Well, I decided to write one post before going to bed...

Today was such a busy day and also one of the disappointed day! :( Why?

First, it's busy, cos this morning we had a delivery, not mine but me flatemates; so, i have to wake up to help as I'm a very helpful mate. Don know why! That's not all! I also help them to set up the bicycle which took me whole day as it came partly and no manual. Man I gotta figure out by my own skillful knowledge of bicycle... Lol! Luckily at the end I managed to put it all together, but they gave us some spares, 2 spares, don know where to fit them in; so they must be spares... lol (Hope so)...

Second, I have told some of my friends that i will be online to day from 6pm (PP time). They said they really want to talk to me... So i sms to tell them one day earlier so that they can find a spare time... However, when i online, i found no one... So i sms again and still silence. At least they sms be back to say they busy they cannot make it... But no one did. I am so disappointed in them, cos i wait for them more then 2 hours and still waiting... Yab tha Yab man...

Oh sleep heuy... Hope to hear sth from them soon...

Going to the Sport Center!

This afternoon, me and my two flatmate went to the sport center to play badminton. The center is so huge! It got everything you need, badminton, basketball, football, ruby, and tennis field, running track, swimming pool, and gym.

We booked the badminton field for 1 hour, but we can play more than 1 hour if no one play after us... Lolzzz. Wow what a day!

After our time was up, we went around the center and looking at the gym and swimming pool. Mayb next time we will go for a swim... can't wait!

Oh gotta sleep soon, cos tomorrow gotta work at 11am... Cheers!

You guys would never believe this! Guess what I just experience?

It's an "Earthquake"! Yes an earthquake I tell you. It happened just now, right before I post this one. I just can't wait. It was approximately 1am and last about 10sec. Here's the story...

I was watching a cartoon on Dailymotion.com when suddenly I felt something strange. Kinda weird feeling. I felt a bit dizzy. I thought it might be because I stay in front of the laptop so long that why! But then I heard some sound outside, sound like the antenna on the roof is shaking, you know the metal hit one another. And I said to myself, "Yeah! I definitely feel dizzy!"

Then the chair I was sitting on was moving from side to side as I am not heavy enough you know... And when I looked at my closet and saw the hanger wasn't stable as it should be. Now I realized it. OMG it's an earthquake, but just after I realized it, it stopped.

I ran down to my friend and asked them whether they felt the same. And first they said yeah they felt dizzy, but I said no you idiot, it's an earthquake. One of my other friends didn't even realized it, cos she too busy chatting with her bf, but she said she knew it because her bf told her... Lol

Wow what a great experience! The first earthquake I have experienced, 27 Feb 2007, 1am.

Finally! At last! and ...!

I have got the internet connection to my flat... After waiting all this long, I will make a full use of it! Yeah really! That include surf the net, chatting, streaming the video online, research, and of course downloading, as it is an unlimited downloaded! Hahaha

And also luckily, my semester just started, it will be very helpful for me to do the research. I don't need to go to library everyday... Oh and this time the broadband is damn fast!

Strange Weather!

Wow wow wow! The weather here is totally strange! I don know now it is spring or not, but if not, it is coming soon. However, the weather start to get cold again... What wrong with it? It is cold and foggy!

One night this week the temperature dropped to 2 degree and some part of UK is -0! Can you believe that? I think it may be because of the global warming things! Now the climate of the world is changing! Maybe later there will be four seasons in Cambodia and only two seasons in UK and other countries that use to have four seasons... If it really happen that gonna be... don know how to put it...

Oh oh I will probably have internet connection on Monday next week! Can't wait!! ;)

New semester finally begin... It has been a long long holiday! I nearly forget what I am doing here... lol!

Today is the registration day and maybe another week of orientation, I guess! I think you guys in Cambodia still on holiday right or already start! Hey tell you what the weather here is getting cold again... Don know why? So strange... Last night! It was so damn cold! Freezing!! In the morning when I went out the car out side is freeze and some still have ice on the window glass!

Wow I cannot believe my own ear when I was speaking to Timmy on my mobile... I was reading a comic book I borrowed from the library today when I received a phone call from Timmy.

First I thought it was someone else from... you know cos i see the num was begun with 02..., landline number, which is normally call from office or company or sth... When I answered the phone, I felt a bit strange cos the voice sound familiar... And then when she speak khmer to me then i am sure that it timmy voice...

I still wondering why it showed me the whole number when timmy called me cos when my parents called me from cambodia it not normally show number...

It was a great talk with timmy... I'm so glad you call me cos i feel so boring today... Thank you so much Timmy...

Sorry for not updating this blog for so long... Well in this post can you guess what I am going to write about?

It just about one of my friends who just gone back to Malaysia on the 28 of this month. Wow it sure do sad to think about it. We have stay with each other for nearly half year... At Heathrow airport, at the check-in desk, his suitcase is overwieght so he had to take some stuff out. Lucky him that I accompanied him on that day... (or lucky me lol). You know why it is overweight, cos he bring back alot of chocolate and chip... So at the end he have to take some out and give it to me... hahaha

So now my house have got only three people including me! We have one room free... Why I am telling you this cos if you no someone who want to rent a room please contact me ok! The room condition and environment is acceptable and student-friendly... lol

Hey here is the thing that you cannot miss. There will be a shooting star tomorrow night (Friday January, 4). The event is rarely happen. This year is the best year that to see the view of the shooting star... The event is called, " Meteor Shower".

In western europe, you can see the star shouting 1-2 in every minute, which will be around 60-120 per hour; whereas in northern america is only 30-60. You cannot miss it. It last 8 hours, from 2am to 7am (Europe Standard time). Can you imagine that? It gonna be great...

Meaning of My Name " Dara"!

Hey guys! Guess what? Actually, my name is not only meant something in "Khmer", but also international meaning.

It was about two weeks ago that I came across the meaning of my name on Wikipedia.com. It is so amazing to find my name on Wikipedia... Lolz!

Well, let's me tell you what it means. As we all know, in Khmer Dara mean star up in the dark sky during the silent night with the moon to shine the earth... In the Bible's Old Testament Books of Chronicles, "Dara" means "Pearl of wisdom" or "Wisdom and compassion" in Hebrew name. It also means "to live" as a verb in Modern Hebrew language. Well, in Aramaic, which I have no idea what it is, it means "Pearl", "Father-of-pearl", or "Marble".

Dara also means "Leader" in Turkish and Punjabi, "Wealthy" in Persian, and "Beautiful one" in Kiswahili. it also interpret as "Girl" in Indonesian language, "Virgin" in Malay, as my friends told me, and "Oak Tree" in Irish, but it's still meaningful.

Wow, it is so cool, right? As normally, the names may have a good meaning in their own language, but can mean nothing or even worst in other language. However, I am so glad to know that my name is so meaningful and fascinating. Thank to my parents for naming me "Dara".

Going to Cinema!

Well after the long weeks of trying to complete my assignments, me and my friend decided to release our tension by going to watch a movie in the cinema in Lancaster Square. Actually, it supposed to be "friends" as two of them are so lazy and haven't complete their assignments on time. So, it only two of us went out.

We decided to watch the new movie called, "Golden Compass". The ticket was so expensive, £12.50 per person. First, we were a bit hesitated, but as we had decided we went for the movie; so we bought two tickets. Wow, it was the hugest expense I ever spent on movie, but people said "Don't regret on what you have done, if it is not illegal; otherwise, you will not complete anything."

The movie is so great, both the story and the graphic and sound technology. It is completely different from the cinema in our country as the sound is not so high-tech. Here if the camera is focus on one person and the other is talking or making sound at the back or far away, you can hear it from the seat as if you are inside the movie. You know what I mean right? However, there is one thing I hate about that movie, "Golden Compass". It got no ending, cos I think the director want to continue the story, "Golden Compass 2". Lolz!

Well but it's a great movie. You guys should watch it, buy cheap DVD in our country tov, it's better...

Unexpected Result!

Well guess what guys... It's vacation...

On the Christmas party last night, it is also the day that the lecture gave out the certificate for student who participated in the academic project. However, it's so sad, cos on that same day i had business stat. exam. Everyone celebrate and me sitting for the exam...

Oh on after refreshment, my lecturer gave a short speech and announce the outstanding group in the project. Don't ask me what he said, cos I was doing exam upstair can't hear anything. Then when he announce that the first outstanding group is "Six degree", my group name, everyone clapped but non of my group member were there so stupid... and then they all when sileint, so my lecturer go on, to announce the second outstanding group which is my flatmate group, "Juicy Bread". There is only two group got outstanding. So cool right?

Then after I finish exam, I just went down to the party to grab something to eat. My friends come to congratulate me, and I didn't know what they talking about...

During the session in Micro-economics, my lecturer has mention about the exported products of UK. Products here can be both goods and service. He said that the top exported product is Financial Service. The second one is, he forgot. For the top third exported product is ***. Therefore, the UK government is so strict on this part.

Next year, the law that related to this product will be strengthened double or even triple, in my idea. That is also the reason why I have to wait for nearly 2 hours at the immigration control in Heathrow Airport.

Different in marking system!

One day during my lecture, long time ago, my lecturer told us about the different in marking system in UK.

In Cambodia, the score is deducted when we make mistake, right? However, here the mark is putting up and also deducted. If there is ten point to mention in the essay, you have to mention all of it and make it accurately. One idea mean one mark. Mark also deducts when you make vocabulary or grammatical mistake.

In UK, it is so rare for students to get above 70%! Why? Cos, 70+ is A already. It is equivalent to 85 in USA system...

On the other hand, it is so funny to here him said that, if you got less than 80 in German, you failed. Is it true? I don know.

Bad Day!

Today, I suppose to have the presentation for the final project. There are lecturers and external examiner coming also to listen to our presentation and to see our work. I've been working so hard for this project, and today i mess everything up!

I have produced a marketing plan for my project, which have been told by my lecture the best marketing plan of the semester, but... So hard to say! I'm feeling so sad now...

Ok, today I though that the presentation started at 14:30, as written on the noticeboard, but time change on the day of presentation. It started at 12:30 and I arrive at 14. How stupid, I am! They said it's ok, cos the lectures just want to know how much efford you put in this project. It's fine. However, I still feel quilty!

It made me feel worst when my marketing lecturer come back to give us comment. He talked directly to me. He said he want me to present what i had done. He have back me up with external examiner that my marketing plan is the best marketing plan ever produced by the first year first semester students. He said at my level, it is even better than the other second and third year students.

He said he is so disappionted in me that i didn't show up. He wanted me to show off my work to the external examiners, but why? Why i didn't show up? After hearing those words, I feel like all the light in the world has been suck away. I feel so bad. How this stupid thing happen to me? Why?

I wish I can turn back time! And Start All This Thing Again!

I just realised this a week ago, when I was doing the research in my University. It was around 3pm, sitting in front of my laptop. I was so stressful for all that research, reading, and typing. I decided I want to have some rest.

I first check my email. Then I saw some comment on my blog. So i visit my blog to reply all the comment. Suddenly, I realise that I was smiling without knowing it. A Strange Night!

Tonight, or this morning in Cambodia, I did know why I felt so sleepy. Normally, I go to bed late, let's say around 12 or sth. However, tonight, While I was reading a book, Business Plan in a Week, I suddenly felt so sleepy and dropped the book on my chest and felt asleep.

After 3 hours of dreamy sleep, I was woken up by a strange object in the sky... As I remembered, before I felt asleep the sky was so cloudy. There was not a single star or a light of a moon shining behind the cloud. However, when I woke up, everything changed. The sky was so clear, not a single cloud. The strange thing is the moon.

Normally, the moon light suppose to be soft and relaxed when we look at it, but not with this moon. The light is so strong and bright. It is as bright as a light bulb or flash light shooting from the sky... Whenever I look at it, I don feel like it is a moon after all.

Is it just the moon in London or what? Or "Is it something else in the sky?"

P.S. I can't sleep with this strange shiny light from the MOON, that why I decide to post this strange thing right away...

My first salary!

Hey you know what? Of course you don't know..., cos I not yet told you what... haha

Ok ok, let's me get to the point! As you have seen the "Title", you might have guess that I have a job, but what kind of job?

Before I tell you what my job is, let's me tell you what my lecturer said. My business statistics lecturer told us it was good to have a part-time job during university years. Why? Because you can gain experience from life, you will know how hard it is to make money so you will not spend it mindlessly on unnecessary things. She said that salary and type of job were not important, what important was experiences. She even suggested us to work in a bar... Lol. Cos she said we can improve our language and learn how to socialise with other people.

My job is a part-time waiter at Place to Eat in John Lewis Shopping Centre. My duty is to clear the table, I am not taking food order, cos at that restaurant is half fast food and half formal restaurant. Sometimes, I work in the kitchen when there is not many customer outside. However, work in the kitchen is easier than outside, cos all I have to do is collect the cleaned plates and organise it. It is not so crowded on week days, but on weekends, OH MY GOD, people just flood in and out from 10am to 3pm.

My salary is weekly basic. It is £5.52 per hour. This week I just work for 11 hours so my salary is £60.72, deducted £1 for tax, so I get £59.72. They not give me cash, but cheque. So I have to go to the bank to withdraw it. I have attach the photo of my cheque, wanna see...
